"winning actually isn't the only thing" response

In David Maraniss's article, Winning Actually Isn't the Only Thing", he brings up many reasons for why the unfair call in the Green Bay vs. Seattle game had upset him.  He wondered to his readers and to himself if he would have been as upset by the call if the Packers had been in the lead enough that they still would have won the game regardless of the foul call.  He also brought up the reactions of the opposing team and how those had upset him.  Seeing and hearing the Seattle quarterback boast of the amazing play they had just pulled off, and what a close call it was frustrated Maraniss because it was obvious to anyone watching the game that the refs had made a bad call, therefore the Seattle team really didn't accomplish anything amazing.

While the game is over and the score will stand, the reactions of the opposition are extremely inappropriate.  The Seahawks should not be boasting of their incredible close call that won them the game, when clearly, they only won because of the bad call that was made.  Even if they are happy they won, they should have a little more dignity than to applaud themselves for receiving the points and the win that they didn't actually earn.  I don't think I would be as bothered by the ref's mistake if it hadn't cost us the game, but seeing as that is the way it turned out, I believe myself, along with many other Packer fans, would appreciate it if the Seahawks weren't so openly proud of their "great play" that led to their victory.

"Disconnected" Response

“Disconnected” is a documentary that, I believe, was created to spread a bold message, that young adults of today's generation can survive without technology for an extended period of time.  While it was portrayed as a daunting task for these three college students, they all seemed semi-confident that they would successfully cut computers from their life for their set period of time.
